Ylang Ylang (cananga odorata) oil is extracted by steam distillation from the flowers of a small tree which grows in Indonesia, Madagascar, the Philippines & the Reunion Islands. Known as the 'flower of flowers'. The trees can produce mauve, pink or yellow flowers. The best quality oil is distilled from the yellow flowers which are picked early in the day during early summer.
